2016 Chapter Awards Program

 
The 2016 Chapter Awards Program recognizes chapters that did exemplary work in the areas of state government relations, newsletter communications, special projects, and getting their Candidates designated in 2015.
 
Winning chapters will be honored at the 2016 Chapter Leadership Program in Chicago.
 

AWARD DESCRIPTION

State Government Relations Award

Presented to the most active or innovative chapter or region in state relations in 2015. Activities may include but are not limited to: 1) support of state legislative and regulatory issues; 2) campaign work in support of candidates for elected office; 3) grassroots lobbying efforts; and 4) the use of technology or the Internet.
 
Submissions for the State Government Relations Award will be scored on the following criteria:
 
Degree of demonstration of support of legislative and regulatory issues.
Evidence or description of campaign work.
Evidence or description of grassroots lobbying efforts.
Evidence or description of chapter’s use of technology.
Quality of essay.
 
Please keep this criteria in mind when crafting your submissions:
 
Submit a short essay describing the activities or contributions made by your chapter, as well as any other supporting documents. Essay should specify how the chapter's work aligns with the award criteria above.
 
AWARD DESCRIPTION

Newsletter Awards

Presented to chapters whose 2015 newsletters provided the best source of information regarding:
 
1. chapter, regional, and national issues;
2. volunteer recognition;
3. editorials;
4. education offerings; and
5. appearance and presentation, including compliance with the Appraisal Institute’s branding and
    graphics standards.
 
Categories include:
 
Small Chapter (Less than 100)
Medium Chapter (100- 400)
Large Chapter (More than 400)
 
Submissions for the Newsletter Award will be scored on the following criteria:
 
Number of national, regional and chapter issues addressed.
Quantity & quality of volunteers recognized.
Quantity & quality of editorials included.
Promotion of educational offerings.
Ease of read, appearance, and presentation of content.
 
Please keep this criteria in mind when crafting your submissions:
 
Please provide 1 sample of a chapter newsletter issued in 2015.
 
AWARD DESCRIPTION

Hot Topic/Special Projects Award

Given to the chapter that initiated a program or event in 2015 that advanced the Appraisal Institute’s public relations and marketing objectives, promoted the individuals of a chapter, and/or increased the visibility of both the chapter and the national organization, such as market trends studies with other real estate constituents that promoted media attention and public awareness.
 
Submissions for the Hot Topic/Special Projects Award will be scored on the following criteria:
 
Promotion of Designated members, candidates for designation, practicing affiliates, and affiliates
  belonging to and outside the chapter.
Level of exposure outside of the organization.
Partnership with another organization.
Quality of essay.
 
Please keep this criteria in mind when crafting your submissions:
 
Submit a short essay describing the activities or contributions made by your chapter, as well as any other supporting documents. Essay should specify how the program or project aligns with the award criteria above.
