Celebrating 15 Years of Service: Lisa Wasserman
Congratulations to Lisa Wasserman! She celebrates her 15th anniversary at the Appraisal Institute this year.
What positions have you held at the Appraisal Institute?
Lisa: I began with the Appraisal Institute in 1994 as Manager Accounting and Order Fulfillment, and moved to my current position - Director, Finance and Administration - in March 2008. In my current position, I’ve really enjoyed working with a variety of members at the Committee and Board levels. Our members are very passionate in the work they do and in the volunteer work they do for the Appraisal Institute – it’s very motivating to work with them and for them.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Lisa:
One of the larger projects I took on was to reduce our occupancy costs. This was a lengthy process of subleases and moving to our current location resulted in a significant overall savings of 9%.
What do you enjoy most about working for the Appraisal Institute?
Lisa: The staff I have worked with over the years are enthusiastic, friendly and have a great teamwork attitude. The enthusiasm goes beyond just professional endeavors; our staff has contributed efforts and funds to many organizations, a few of those – Juvenile Diabetes, Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer awareness and various homeless food depositories.
Do you have a "fondest AI memory"? If so, please share.
Lisa: While we were looking into our office move, we took a memorable tour - we took a ride on a construction elevator on the outside of a building under construction. It's a ride that fellow staff and I will not easily forget!
