The Appraisal Institute created a professional appraisal Review Designations program in response to the growing and critically important role that appraisal review plays in risk management and mitigation for many clients/users of appraisal services. The program was approved by the AI Board of Directors and will provide professional reviewers with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the due diligence and risk management needs of their employers and clients.
Beginning later in 2013, Appraisal Institute Designated members can pursue a General or Residential appraisal Review Designation. In 2014, candidates for an AI General or Residential Review Designation can begin the process. In 2014, individuals who do not hold an AI designation could probably become candidates for an AI General or Residential Review designation.
The following documents are intended to educate Appraisal Institute members and other interested professionals on the Review Designations program.
