Three Members Honored as AI ‘Volunteer of Distinction’ in January

The Appraisal Institute announced Jan. 9 the recognition of three members as a “Volunteer of Distinction” for January.

Members honored were Suzanne K. Bloyed, SRA, of Region II (Green Country of Oklahoma Chapter); Richard A. Maloy, MAI, SRA, of Region IX (Alabama Chapter); and Joni L. Herndon, SRA, of Region X (Florida Gulf Coast Chapter).

The Appraisal Institute’s “Volunteer of Distinction” program recognizes one Designated member in good standing per region each month who has contributed to the Appraisal Institute, the profession and their local community.

Bloyed, a member of the Appraisal institute since 1982, is the 2013 Nominating Committee chair for the Green Country of Oklahoma Chapter. She served two stints as chapter president (2010-11; 2002-04) and served on several chapter committees.

Maloy, a member of the Appraisal institute since 1976, was a Region IX third director in 2012, and chair of the Appraisal Institute’s Government Relations Committees from 2009-11. He also has served on a number of committees on both the national and chapter levels.

Herndon, a member of the Appraisal institute since 1993, served as Region X chair from 2011-12, vice chair in 2010, director from 2009-10 and third director in 2008. She also was chapter president in 2005, secretary in 2004 and treasurer in 2003, as well as a member of several committees.

Appraisal Institute Designated members, Candidates for Designation, Practicing Affiliates and Affiliates may nominate members by submitting their nomination form to their chapter’s executive director or president. Each region’s honorees then are chosen by their regional executive director in conjunction with the region’s chair and vice chair.
