Appraisal Institute Book Shares Methods for Valuing Golf Courses

CHICAGO (Oct. 18, 2016) – More appraisers are valuing golf course properties and are bringing sophisticated new methodology to the market and appraisal practice, according to a new book by the Appraisal Institute.

“Golf Property Analysis and Valuation: A Modern Approach” by Laurence A. Hirsh, MAI, examines what makes golf properties unique. The author discusses market segments for golf properties, design considerations, and ownership and management structures of golf courses and clubs, in addition to types, styles and layouts of golf courses. The text also focuses on methods of valuing golf properties, as well as common problems and issues that appraisers encounter.
