The President’s Award is given at the President’s discretion to a person(s) who is: committed to the organization, currently engaged in its activities, an effective spokesperson, representative at all times, and in touch with both the needs of other members and the changes that the organization must help its members to meet.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to an individual member that demonstrates high ethical standards; volunteered several years of service and contribution to the Appraisal Institute on the international, national, regional and/or chapter level; service to his or her community; and contributed to the appraisal profession. Recommend a minimum of 20 years service to be eligible for this award. Recommendation given to President by Awards Selection Panel.
The Outstanding Service Award is awarded to an individual that has provided outstanding service and contribution to the Appraisal Institute. This award can be given retroactively. Submitters should provide a narrative. Recommendation given to President by Awards Selection Panel.

Appraisal Institute Designated members, Candidates for Designation, Practicing Affiliates and Affiliates provide volunteer service to their organization, their profession and their communities.

The Appraisal Institute’s recognition program honors volunteers for their service to the Appraisal Institute, to the real estate valuation profession and to their local communities. Each month, the Appraisal Institute will recognize one honoree in each region as a Volunteer of Distinction.
Anyone in good standing who makes contributions to the Appraisal Institute, the appraisal profession or their local community is eligible to be recognized. Chapter executive directors will submit nominations, on a form provided on the Appraisal Institute’s Web site, to their regional executive director. Anyone may make suggestions to chapter executive directors. Regional executive directors, in consultation as necessary with their regional chair and/or vice chair, will select honorees each month for their regions.
