  Description    


This course addresses topics that were not included in the older version such as International Standards, diversity, and Regulation No. 5. The examples and case studies address real-life, up-to-date matters such as mortgage fraud and advocacy. The course contains relevant and much-needed information for members.



The content emphasizes

  • which standards apply to Appraisal Institute members and when they apply

  • the key principles of the Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice of the Appraisal Institute

  • how to identify and avoid behavior that violates the Code of Professional Ethics

  • the correct way for Associate and Designated Members to use the Appraisal Institute's designations, emblems, and logo

  • how the Appraisal Institute's enforcement process works and what it means to an individual member

  • the importance of diversity as business strategy

  • business practices that are unacceptable in a customer service industry such as appraisal practice and ways to avoid unacceptable practices


NOTE: Due to some content specific to the Appraisal institute, the AQB has approved this course for 5 hours of CE. Check with your state for approved credit hours. Appraisal Institute members will receive 7 hours of A.I. credit.

    • Up To 15 days prior to program start date, $25.00 cancellation fee.
    • 7 - 14 days prior to program start date, $50.00 cancellation fee.
    • Less than 7 days prior to program start date, forfeit of payment.
           
    Enrollment is on a first-come, first served basis. If the event is filled, a waiting list will be retained. The Atlanta Area Chapter Appraisal Institute is not responsible for students' non-refundable airline reservations or other travel expenses. The Chapter reserves the right to cancel, limit, or reschedule the program and to change faculty assignments and facility locations at any time. If you have a disability and require accommodation, please notify the Atlanta Area Chapter office at least two weeks in advance and we will arrange for reasonable accommodation.

    Program materials will be picked up at the site.

    This course is approved for 7 hours continuing education with the Appraisal Institute. The Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board has approved it for 5 hours continuing education credit.

    ATTENDANCE POLICY
    100% attendance is required for all Appraisal Institute education programs. This follows Appraiser Qualifications Board minimum criteria requirements. A “classroom hour” is defined as 50 minutes out of each 60 minute segment. A 10-minute break per hour is allowed and a student would still meet the 100% attendance requirement. Students should not be late or leave early; if they are late or leave early, they will not receive credit.

    The Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board requires 100% attendance for each 50-minute instruction hour. Partial credit is not awarded.

    ENROLLMENT CANCELLATION NOTICE
    All enrollment cancellations must be submitted in writing via fax 404-745-0270 or email sbrockway@aiatlanta.org. A confirmation of your cancellation will be e-mailed once it is processed by the Chapter office. See course details regarding cancellation fees. If your course materials are already shipped to you, a UPS call tag will be sent for the return of the materials. Once the materials are received, then, the appropriate refund on your credit card will be issued.

    IF THE COURSE MATERIAL WAS DIRECT SHIPPED TO YOU, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BRING IT WITH YOU TO CLASS EACH DAY. ADDITIONAL COURSE MATERIAL WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO YOU AT THE CLASS.
