Ted Anglyn has worked in the appraisal and valuation field for about 25 years, and been an Appraisal Institute instructor for over 15 years. During his career, he has been a property manager, a fee appraiser, a review appraiser, a lender, and is presently a retail acquisitions director for a real estate fund. From 1990-2005, he was the Regional Appraiser for New York Life Investment Management’s Southeast Regional office. In that capacity for New York Life in Atlanta, Ted held the primary responsibility for reviewing and valuing new and existing debt and equity investment opportunities in the 10-state Southeast Region as well as overseeing a $1.5 billion loan portfolio. From 2005-2007, Ted moved into commercial real estate loan production with the New York Life Investment Management’s Southeast Region. He presently is the Director of Acquisitions for a real estate fund investing in shopping centers, and has offices in Tampa and Atlanta and cover five states in the Southeast.

Ted is active in the local Atlanta Area Appraisal Chapter having served as its president during 1999. On the national and regional level for The Appraisal Institute his service includes: 1997 Chair of the Young Advisory Council; the 1999-2005 Region IX Finance Chair; and the National Board of Directors for 2000 for Region IX. For 2005-2006, Ted serves on the Appraisal Institute’s National Finance Committee.

In further service to the commercial real estate industry, Ted regularly serves as a guest speaker on appraisal and valuation related topics. Ted has published four real estate seminars for the Appraisal Institute as well as numerous articles on complex valuation issues, and converted three of these into online education seminars.

In recognition of Ted’s past efforts and contributions to the Leadership Development Advisory Council, the Appraisal Institute awards an annual leadership award in his name. In September 2004, Ted received the lifetime achievement “Legion of Leaders” award by the Atlanta Area Appraisal Institute Chapter.

Ted Anglyn is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. His hobbies include travel, which has taken him to all 7 continents, and 25 out of the 30 Major League ballparks.
