Alan F. Simmons, SRPA, LEED AP, lives in Colorado Springs and works full time in teaching and course development, serving as an instructor for many of our online programs. He was an appraiser for over 30 years and has taught for the Appraisal Institute and other organizations in 45 states.
He developed Courses 110, 120 and R-3 for the Appraisal Institute and was a Contributing Editor to the Twelfth Edition of "The Appraisal of Real Estate". He has developed two classroom seminars for the Institute as well as 7 online seminars and courses. He holds the Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) from the International
Distance Education Certification Center. He also has the LEED AP designation as an Accredited Professional under the U.S. Green Building Council LEED program.
He has been a Certified Instructor for Marshall & Swift. He was the 1992 recipient of the George L. Schmutz Memorial Award for contributions to the advancement of appraisal knowledge and best technical writing. Also, he received the 1993 L.W. Ellwood Award as "Appraiser of the Year" in New York State. Mr. Simmons has served the Appraisal Institute twice as a Chapter President and twice as Regional Representative to Region IV. |
