New Appraisal Institute Book Addresses Challenges of Valuing Mobile Homes

April 6, 2017 08:00 AM

CHICAGO (April 6, 2017) –The popularity of mobile homes and recreational vehicles will continue to grow as manufacturers offer new design concepts and aging baby boomers look for affordable housing and travel options, according to a new book by the Appraisal Institute.

“Appraising Manufactured (Mobile) Home Communities and Recreational Vehicle Parks” by Robert S. Saia, MAI, presents a broad overview of the manufactured housing industry and examines the various factors that affect the value of mobile home and RV parks.

“Mobile homes and RVs are unique housing types that are increasing in popularity,” Appraisal Institute President Jim Amorin, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, wrote in the book’s foreword. “Mobile homes have shed the stigma of low-cost housing, and some can rival site-built designs in terms of quality.”

“Appraising Manufactured (Mobile) Home Communities and Recreational Vehicle Parks” explores the complex legal, physical and economic challenges involved in owning and operating mobile home and RV parks and demonstrates practical methods for valuing these unusual properties.

“Appraising Manufactured (Mobile) Home Communities and Recreational Vehicle Parks” (ISBN: 9781935328698) is a 125-page softcover book. It is available for $50 ($40 for Appraisal Institute professionals). Call 888-756-4624 or order online
