About the Author
Barrett A. Slade, PhD, MAI, is an associate professor of finance at the Marriott School at Brigham Young University. He received his PhD in real estate from the University of Georgia and holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He has over 25 years of experience in the appraisal profession. His experience includes serving as vice president and chief appraiser for the First Interstate Bank of Arizona and as president of Slade and Associates, a real estate appraisal and consulting firm located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. In addition, Mr. Slade’s consulting experience includes due diligence investigations, disposition strategies, portfolio valuation, market segmentation analysis, feasibility studies, white paper research studies, problem property strategies, and expert witness testimony.
