Analysis and Valuation of Golf Courses and Country Clubs
is an entirely new valuation manual that replaces the classic text Golf Courses and Country Clubs: A Guide to Appraisal, Market Analysis, Development and Financing. The golf industry has changed dramatically since the 1992 text was published and this new text, which reflects these changes, will help appraisers and other analysts describe and classify golf courses, understand current industry trends, identify and analyze the characteristics of golf markets throughout the United States, and estimate the value of individual golf properties.

The unique aspects of private golf clubs, daily fee courses, municipal facilities, and residential golf communities are all covered in this text as are all of the necessary steps in the market analysis and valuation processes.

About the Author
Arthur E. Gimmy, MAI, is president of Arthur Gimmy International, a national real estate appraisal and consulting firm. He has taught extensively and is the author of four other books published by the Appraisal Institute: Fitness, Racquet Sports, and Spa Projects; The Analysis and Valuation of Health Care Enterprises; Senior Housing: Looking Toward the Third Millennium; and The Business of Show Business: The Valuation of Movie Theaters. Mr. Gimmy frequently serves as an expert witness, testifying in litigation involving complex appraisal issues.

Buddie A. Johnson is director of the golf division at Arthur Gimmy International. He has been a development consultant for the National Golf Foundation and had his own development company for many years, overseeing the planning, financing, construction, and operation of mixed-use real estate projects.
