The Appraisal Institute is seeking a Specialist to coordinate submissions and renewals for state certification of Appraisal Institute classroom, online and live-online education programs. This individual will maintain accurate records and data for education applications to state agencies, among other duties.

  • Administer state certification approvals and renewals of courses, seminars, online programs, live-online programs, AI conferences and other collaborative conferences, including to: o Maintain accurate state certification program data and records, including instructor and location approvals.
  • Research and maintain current knowledge of state legislation and regulations.
  • Respond to inquiries, resolve issues or refer questions from registrants and chapters regarding state certification approvals, renewals and pending submissions.
  • Assist education delivery team by responding to inquiries and requests by phone and email.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


At least 2 years of experience in education administration and customer service, including:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytic skills and ability to convey complex information clearly
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience in large databases to enter, maintain and report information
  • Time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Association experience welcomed


We offer an excellent benefits package including – medical, dental, vision, PTO, & 401(k). A majority remote work environment for now. This role will be required to come into the office 1 to 2 times a week. A convenient loop location close to public transportation once we are back on site (TBD). A 37.5 hour work week and flexible start time.

Technical Customer Support Specialist

(Specialist Delivery Support Admin)

Do you have superior customer service skills or experience in working with students and seek a new role that is technology focused? Due to continued growth, The Appraisal Institute is seeking a customer focused individual to support students and instructors in our online technology-based education. Our opportunity will interact with participants and require a proactive individual to respond to technical issues and troubleshooting for resolution. This part time role will be remote; Monday – Saturday 9:30 am -1:00 pm CST.


  • Provide administrative and technical support to prospective and current students and instructors in on-demand and live online technology-based education.
  • Work extensively with organization database and delivery systems to enter, maintain and verify offering and student data.
  • Compile and maintain templates and reports related to offerings, support volume, support tickets, frequently asked questions, discounts and other delivery information.
  • Draft and process contracts and payments for technology-based education instructors.
  • Serve as back-up producer as needed to assist instructors and Senior Manager, Technology-Based Education in scheduling, delivery and reporting for live on-line technology-based education programs.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


  • 2+ years’ experience in customer service or administrative services preferably working with students in an education system
  • Association experience preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Saturday: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm CST
  • Online administrative and technical support, including basic browser troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide support through email, phone and live on-line communication tools such as GoToWebinar and Skype
  • Web-based data entry experience
  • Proficient in MS Office 365, including Word, Excel (basic formulas) and PowerPoint (to revise existing templates)
  • Ability to travel to Chicago Corporate HQ twice a year

Pay Rate:$24.00 – 27.00/hr based on experience
