Eligibility and Procedures for the VCCAI Member Designation Scholarship Application

 
  1. Applicant must be an Appraisal Institute Candidate for Designation in good standing pursuing an MAI, SRA, AIRRS or AI-GRS designation.
  2. Applicant must be a member of the Virginia Commonwealth Chapter of Appraisal Institute.
  3. Applicant must have met at least one of the three requirements below:
    1. Attended two of the applicant’s Chapter meetings prior to receiving a 2023 VCCAI scholarship award;
    2. Attended a Chapter or Region Candidate Guidance meeting;
    3. Recommendation for a VCCAI Scholarship by a Designated Member (attach recommendation).
  4. Applicant must submit a completed application to the VCCAI Scholarship Committee Chair (this form).
  5. Applicant must submit a few paragraphs stating why he or she should be awarded the scholarship highlighting professional goals and experience.
  6. Applicant must submit a resume or statement of qualifications.
  7. Applicant must submit a list of completed Appraisal Institute courses and designation requirements to date.
  8. If the Applicant would like to apply for scholarship funds towards a different AI course than listed on Page 1 of this Application, please list the name, cost and location of that course, and please include a statement with an explanation why you believe this course will be valuable to you and why you should receive funding.

Conditions:
 
  1. Scholarship money is for the program fee only.
  2. Scholarships will be equitably awarded on a first come, first served basis.
  3. Scholarship funds will be distributed to the student once the course has been successfully completed and a receipt and proof of attendance is submitted.
  4. No refunds will be given for unused scholarship awards.
  5. Scholarship money must be used within a one-year time period from which it is awarded.
  6. This scholarship does NOT apply toward standard online courses but does apply to virtual/live (synchronous) online classes.

I hereby apply for the VCCAI, Appraisal Institute Candidate for Designation Scholarship. I represent to the best of my knowledge and belief that all information contained on this application is true and accurate as of the date of this application. Should any such information change after the date of this application, I will immediately notify the VCCAI Scholarship Committee Chair. I understand that submission of an application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded. I hereby irrevocably waive any claim or cause of action at law or equity that I might have at any time against VCCAI, Region V of the Appraisal Institute, the Appraisal Institute, its Board of Trustees, officers, committees, or employees as a group or as individuals and against VCCAI, Region V of the Appraisal Institute, the Appraisal Institute, its Board of Directors, officers, committees, or employees as a group or as an individual for any act or failure to act in connection with this application or scholarship program. Should I receive a scholarship, I hereby grant VCCAI and/or Region V of the Appraisal Institute the right to use my name, likeness and information from this application, and to otherwise profile me in marketing materials and other publicity.
