This seminar is APPROVED for 7 hours of CE in Kansas and Missouri.

This seminar educates real estate appraisers about current legal issues affecting appraisal practice. Examples of subject include professional liability, the most common claims, statutes of limitation, applicable privacy laws and subpoenas. Because appraisal bias and alleged discrimination are very much an issue of current concern, the seminar also provides an up-to-date and accurate discussion of what is actually happening in such investigations and cases.

The course answers specific questions for appraisers, such as:

    • How does USPAP relate to a professional negligence claim?
    • What’s the most important language in an appraisal report – in relation to an appraiser’s potential liability?
    • How does the Gramm Leach Bliley Act really apply to appraisers?
    • Why should I use an engagement agreement for non-lending work?  Where can I find good samples?
    • What are the most common reasons appraisers are sued?
    • How have appraisers found themselves as the targets of investigations and lawsuits alleging discrimination?
