Code of Professional Ethics
Because of this vital role and the commitment of Appraisal Institute Members, Candidates, Practicing Affiliates, and Affiliates to professionalism, the Appraisal Institute has adopted its Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice to establish requirements for ethical and competent practice. These requirements also serve to promote and maintain a high level of public trust and confidence in Appraisal Institute Members.
The Code of Professional Ethics is composed of the Canons, Ethical Rules, and Explanatory Comments.

Exposure Draft of the Proposed Valuers Code of Professional Ethics
The Board of Directors directed distribution of an Exposure Draft of the proposed Valuers Code of Professional Ethics (VCPE) to Designated Members, Candidates, Practicing Affiliates and Affiliates for review and comment.

If you have any comments on the Exposure Draft, please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 16, 2015.
Comments will be compiled and distributed to the Professional Standards and Guidance Committee (PSGC) and Board of Directors. The PSGC will consider the comments received and decide whether to recommend to the Board of Directors any revisions to the Exposure Draft. The Board then will consider whether to direct another round of Exposure, whether to direct 45-Day Notice of the VCPE as distributed or revised, or whether to take some other action.
