President's Message
Dear Kansas City Appraisal Institute members,
I appreciate the opportunity to be the Chapter President for the 2026 year. I am excited this year as we have incredible volunteers in leadership roles for the Chapter, and have several goals planned throughout the year. Our Chapter exists to foster meaningful professional relationships while promoting continuing education and engagement within the appraisal community. Strong communication is key to achieving these goals. This year, we are focused on enhancing our communication efforts and presence by expanding our reach to regional licensed appraisers (member and non-member) through email notifications of upcoming events and courses, as well as refreshing our Chapter website and social media presence.
We’ve already begun the year with momentum, including a successful USPAP course in February and upcoming URAR courses in March. We also plan to offer several additional continuing education opportunities in a classroom setting throughout the year. Beyond the classroom, we are exploring new ways to engage members through social and professional events, including roundtables, lunch-and-learn sessions, and field trips. We will continue our outreach efforts with UMKC to introduce students to careers in real estate appraisal to support the future of our profession. In addition, we are working to strengthen our government relations efforts, including pursuing legislative support in Kansas and Missouri related to statute of repose limitations for appraisal litigation.
Member involvement is essential to our Chapter’s success and I welcome your ideas, feedback, and participation. If you are interested in volunteering or have suggestions for educational programs, speakers, or events, I encourage you to reach out. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our professional community.
Much appreciation,
Greg Becker, MAI
