ICAP Presents: AI in the Agentic Era for Appraisers in the Midwest

This course moves appraisers beyond using AI as a simple chatbot and into the emerging world of AI agents capable of performing production-level appraisal tasks. The seminar begins with a discussion of the USPAP considerations and professional guardrails that must govern the use of artificial intelligence in appraisal practice.

Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the Claude Desktop platform, including the distinctions between Chat, Work (or Cowork), and Code modes, and how each supports different appraisal workflows. Building on that knowledge, the course explores what "agentic AI" truly means and why it represents a significant advancement beyond the conversational AI tools most appraisers know today.

Through live demonstrations, attendees will see how appraisal-specific AI agents are built, trained, and orchestrated to perform complex tasks. Several working appraisal agents will be showcased, culminating in a comprehensive demonstration of an AI-driven workflow that drafts an appraisal report through the approaches to value with no human intervention.

Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on the appraiser's ongoing responsibility for analysis, judgment, review, and compliance. While AI can dramatically improve efficiency and automate routine tasks, the appraiser's professional expertise remains essential and non-negotiable.
