    Course Description

This course takes appraisers beyond using artificial intelligence as a simple chatbot and introduces them to the emerging world of AI agents capable of performing production-level appraisal tasks. The seminar begins with an overview of the USPAP considerations and professional guardrails that must govern the use of AI in appraisal practice.

Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the Claude Desktop platform, including the distinctions between Chat, Work (Cowork), and Code modes, and how each can support different appraisal workflows. Building on that foundation, the course explores what “agentic AI” really means and why it represents a significant advancement beyond the conversational AI tools most appraisers are familiar with today.

Through live demonstrations, attendees will see how appraisal-specific AI agents are designed, configured, and orchestrated to perform increasingly complex tasks. Several working appraisal agents will be showcased, culminating in a comprehensive demonstration of an AI-driven workflow that drafts an appraisal report through the approaches to value with no human intervention.

Throughout the program, special emphasis is placed on the appraiser’s continuing responsibility for analysis, judgment, review, and compliance. While AI can significantly improve efficiency and automate routine processes, the appraiser’s professional expertise remains essential and non-negotiable.
