Course Description
Real estate professionals need to be on top of the currents laws and trends impacting the communities in which they work, particularly those that represent current and future assignment opportunities. More specifically, real estate appraisers represent a critical component in advancing the goal of creating and financing additional housing stock. This has become increasing important in New England where land is scarce, and zoning laws have been particularly challenging. As available housing units have dwindle, laws have been enacted to address the issue. The MA/RI/ME Chapter has assembled a panel of professionals that will provide critical updates on two of these laws (i.e. MBTA Communities & Accessory Dwelling Units). The panelist will provide updates on which communities have enacted changes to facilities housing under both these laws, what financing vehicles are available to move forward on development (ADU’s), and how builders are providing construction solutions that comply with the regulations. The speakers will give presentations and participate in a moderated panel discussion.
Two hours of continuing education credit has been applied for with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Appraisers, Rhode Island Real Estate Appraisers Board and the Maine Board of Real Estate Appraisers.
