Requirements

According to requirements set forth by the Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB), appraisers must successfully complete a course that meets the content requirements of the Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations Outline every two calendar years.

Appraisers must complete a 7-hour course the first time they meet the AQB continuing education requirement for Valuation Bias and Fair Housing.  Every two calendar years thereafter, the course length must be at least four (4) hours.

Individuals must complete an 8-hour course to meet AQB qualifying education core curriculum requirements. This course, which is required to obtain or upgrade an appraiser credential, is identical to the 7-hour version but also includes a one-hour mandatory exam.
