Stephanie C. Coleman, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, AI-RRS, served as senior manager of ethics and standards counseling with the Appraisal Institute, assisting appraisers and others with questions about standards, ethics and business practice issues, and screened referrals as part of the Appraisal Institute’s professional practice enforcement process.
Prior to joining the Appraisal Institute in 2000, Coleman was the compliance manager for the commercial appraisal group at Bank of America. She also worked as an independent fee appraiser. Coleman served on the Appraisal Standards Board of The Appraisal Foundation from 1996-98. She has authored three books, as well as several articles that were published in The Appraisal Journal and Valuation magazine. She is the developer of the Appraisal Institute’s “Business Practices and Ethics” course and co-developer of the organization’s four review appraisal courses. Coleman was actively involved in the development of numerous Appraisal Institute courses, seminars and publications, and was an AQB certified USPAP instructor.
Coleman was awarded the Appraisal Institute Education & Relief Foundation’s Dr. William N. Kinnard Jr. Award in 2021, the Appraisal Institute’s President’s Award in 2019, and the Appraisal Institute Relief Foundation’s (currently AIERF) James H. Pritchett Award in 2011.
