    Course Description

Join us for a 7-hour residential conference jointly sponsored by the Northern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and the Real Estate Appraisers Association (REAA).  It is specifically designed for the independent boots-on-the-ground field appraiser . . . YOU!

Keynote: Advancing the Real Estate Appraisal Profession
Paul Chandler, MAI, 2025 President, Northern California Chapter
Founder / CEO, Property Sciences Group

In this compelling keynote address, Advancing the Real Estate Profession, Paul Chandler, MAI, delivers a call to action for appraisers to lead the profession forward through unity, education, and strategic engagement with key institutions. He presents a bold vision for the future—one in which appraisers reclaim their seat at the table and help shape housing, lending, and regulatory policy.  Chandler emphasizes that appraisers are not only relevant but essential to protecting the public trust, ensuring market transparency, and providing nuanced, credible valuation in a dynamic real estate environment. He stresses the importance of coalition building across the profession—with peers, clients, regulators, and organizations such as The Appraisal Foundation, GSEs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), and federal banking agencies—to reinforce the critical value that professional appraisers bring to the broader financial system.
