2026 Leadership Development and Advisory Council (LDAC)

About LDAC
Where Future Leaders Are Made
The Leadership Development and Advisory Council brings designated and associate members to Washington, D.C. each year to build leadership skills and shape the future of the profession. Participants rotate through four facilitated discussions, so every attendee has a voice in every topic. Those conversations generate ideas and recommendations shared directly with Appraisal Institute leadership, informing the organization's priorities. LDAC is one of the organization's premier leadership development programs and has helped shape many of the Appraisal Institute's national leaders. Advocacy on Capitol Hill is part of the week, but it's one outcome of a much larger leadership development experience.

Advocacy in Action
People at the Table
Advocacy is one part of the LDAC experience, and this year it looked like members at the table.
This year, Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI) addressed attendees in support of the Portal for Appraisal Licensing Act, legislation that would create a nationwide appraiser licensing system. Carlos Lopez of Nebraska met with Curt Bliamptis, Senior Policy Advisor for Chairman Mike Flood (R-NE). The California delegation connected with Rep. Mike Levin (D-CA). ADI partners John Nolan, MAI and Sergio Johnson of Fannie Mae continued work that began at one of the first Appraiser Development Initiative workshops in Baltimore. Every conversation this week matters.

The Organizations That Made It Possible

The Bigger Picture
This Is What the Profession Looks Like When It Shows Up
LDAC exists because the valuation profession deserves a seat at the table, and because its future leaders deserve a place to grow. The Planning Committee and Discussion Leaders who make LDAC possible are member volunteers, reinforcing that this is a program built by members, for members. Programs like the Key Contact Program and the Appraiser Development Initiative are building the network and the pipeline. Moments like LDAC 2026 are where that work becomes visible. The conversation is still going.
