A certified residential real property appraiser may appraise one-to-four residential units without regard to value or complexity.
Step 1. License and Education
Educational requirements: a conferred bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least 200 hours* of qualifying education:

Trainee Real Property Appraiser License or qualifying education (at least 75 hours)

Step 2. State Examination
The successful passing of the Certified Residential Real Property Appraiser examination.

Step 3. Work Experience
