    Course Description

This course is designed to instruct practicing appraisers in the fundamentals of hotel valuation. The class is something that all appraisers could benefit from, especially is they appraiser hotels or are considering appraising them.

Topics covered include lodging market analysis, forecasting operating performance, income capitalization, and sales comparison. Subject of the case studies include a full service hotel in an urban market, midscale limited service hotels in suburban and highway locations, and a proposed extended stay hotel.

    Who Should Enroll
Appraisers that appraise hotels or have an interest in doing so.
    Course Objectives

Upon completion, students should be better prepared to develop an independent opinion of value for a hotel using publicly available data sources and generally accepted appraisal methodology.

Review a hotel appraisal and determine if the data presented is complete and relevant, the valuation methods applied are appropriate, and the value conclusions are credible.
