Veterans have demonstrated a commitment to protecting and defending our nation.  Real estate appraisers provide independent and impartial opinions of a property’s value and also promote public trust in the valuation of real estate.

For information on how to obtain an appraiser license please read  Tips on How to Become an Appraiser.  Appraisal Institute has 64 local chapters around the country and we would welcome the opportunity to match local Appraisal Institute members with veterans who want to learn more about the real estate appraisal profession!

Whether you decide to become a residential or commercial appraiser, you'll need to meet education, experience, and state licensing or certification exam requirements starting with these four programs:

After completing these courses, you’re on your way to becoming a Trainee Appraiser.

These four courses are the minimum requirements set by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB). Check with your state to see if additional courses are required. Once these courses are completed, you’re ready to pursue the next step towards licensing or certification.
